The Find: The Christian Christmas Karen vs. Santa Video found on Facebook Reels
This Facebook reel about a woman demanding that her kid be allowed to sit on Santa and get a free photo hits hard. No one likes to see entitled Moms; protective ones yes of course but this is something else.
In the reel, a blond woman is standing near Santa, yelling at a curly haired elf. She yells “Sit him on Santa for a quick picture, no fuss, no charge. That’s all we’re asking.”
Helpful elf very calmly replies, “Sorry ma’am, it has to go through the register. That’s how the event works.”
Furious and near jumping up and down the mother responds, “We are good Christian people. Why are you denying a service. Look at me, we just want one photo.”
Then steps in a security guard, labeled black shirt and black pants with belt holding what is likely his security guard kit. He starts to say “Let’s take a step back”, or something similar; the video cuts out here.
The Christian Christmas Karen reel was posted by a page called Amazing Things Media, which often shares dramatic clips with little context.
The Clues: Suspicious Signs the Christian Christmas Karen Video Might Be AI
This to some people looks legit but something — but something about it set off my BS meter. Sure, it isn’t uncommon for certain types of Christians to be entitled but this seemed over the top. The audio was so quick and so heated. Something just wasn’t right.
Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t that I have a vast wealth of belief in humans, especially at a mall, but still. Something wasn’t right.
No mention of a location or names or who filmed the reel. This is one of the first things I recommend smart people check for. Even if the video is not AI, this can be helpful information for those who are curious to learn more. I am of course, always curious.
I watched the reel a few times and this is what I noticed. Did you notice these clues to AI as well?
- The elf holds a clipboard, but when she lifts her arms, the clipboard stays perfectly centered in front of her chest — almost as if it’s attached to her instead of being held.
- At the 4-second mark, the timestamp suddenly changes from 12/14/24 to 12/14/25. That’s not just weird — it’s impossible, because the video was posted before December.
- The third clue is on the back of the security guards shirt. The text is not just blurry, the letters change. No matter how I looked at it I could not see how that would happen naturally even with the camera blur that does sometimes happen.
The Checks: AI Detection Tools Used to Analyze the Christmas Karen Video – Our Eyes!
As of this moment I have yet to find a good tool to analyze AI videos. Thankfully in this case, I believe our eyes are enough, don’t you? If you have a good AI video analyzer please do comment or message me, I would love to check it out.
I’ve analyzed other questionable videos before with admittedly better checks — like the supposed Jamaica hospital destruction clip — and this mall Santa video shows many of the same AI tells.
The Christmas Karen Reel Comment Section.
So, not wanting to believe just my own eyes, I jumped into the comment section.

Carol Rundin being all smart
Look at Carol Rundin being all smart like and daring to share what she noticed! Now as for Linda Phillips comment saying “Carol it says it’s 14th December Love” This comment confuses me but I do like it, the “love” at the end brings a Christmas warmth to the confusion, right?

Matt D. – HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW THIS IS AI AND NOT REAL?!
Matt Dykes deserves a medal for his bold and frustrated comment. I agree with him of course. Nice though to see I noticed the AI as well. No award for me though, this is kind of my hobby at this point, seeing if something is AI Real or Not.
Thank you Cheryl Preston for seeing the AI I missed.
Cheryl Preston steps into the comments with an observation I missed, that Santa’s face looks purple. I can see it now, though I think my standards for faces behind costume beards and stuck in too hot red Santa outfits I think made me justify the oddness. Thankful he isn’t a real guy right?
And sure enough, lots of folk falling for the Christmas AI reel.

These are but a few of the comments from people who seem to not have caught on that this is a Christmas AI reel.
Christmas Karen doesn’t care about the kids!
I do like that some clearly care for the morals Christmas Karen is showing to her child! Anthony Pay has me a bit confused commenting to one of the people who mentioned that the Mom is not a good example (in a sarcastic way of course) saying “People are brainless, this is why humans only use 4 ounces instead of the 3 pounds of their brain.” Now I wonder if he is commenting on the moral issue or the AI one. It really sounds like the moral issue and with a comment like his, with his 3 pound brain, I would hope he also at some point caught on to the AI.
No Matthew, this isn’t scary good AI.
Matthew Miller…. Matthew, Matthew, Matthew…. He stated “AI is getting scary good…” here I must disagree with you but only about this reel. This Christmas Karen reel is so clearly AI, it isn’t good at all. There are some good AI videos out there of course but it isn’t this one Mathew. Fight me on it!
What is a Walmart Wendy?
Lastly, dear Rob Hunter has brought something ever so important to my attention; has our society moved past Karen shaming now on to Walmart Wendy shaming? I haven’t heard of this one before. Now I know that poking fun at people isn’t the best trait humans have but I do think adding humor to bad situations is a positive thing, so I support the use of Karen and now Wendy as social clues to bad behavior. This is of course a very subjective opinion. I am sorry to all the Karens and Wendy’s out there, I am sure you are lovely.
The Verdict: Is the Christian Christmas Karen Video Real or AI?
The Christmas Karen vs. Santa Elf reel is AI. Of those I am certain. Or at least as certain as I can be given the information I have. You know how that goes. By all means though, prove me wrong dear wonderfully clever geeks.
Wishing you all happy holidays. May all the wonderful things be real and may all the AI be easy to spot.
